The Social Justice Center at FIT, a first-of-its-kind initiative in higher education, is a groundbreaking effort to address the systemic problems faced by BIPOC youth, college students, and working professionals in the fields that drive the creative economy. The SJC offers meaningful support and services to help BIPOC students and employees succeed in the creative industries, including fashion. We believe these efforts can significantly increase diversity and equity in these industries.

NFL x FIT
The Social Justice Center at FIT and the NFL Players Association teamed up for a T-shirt design contest to drive awareness around the issue of health inequity. This video features the contest winner, FIT student Siara Mencia, Textile/Surface Design '24.
Carolina Herrera and the SJC
After a successful first year of partnership, Carolina Herrera is recommitting its involvement with the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Carolina Herrera Social Justice Scholars Program, which will support select female students through four years of studies.
